eBay's Goldin Expands Entertainment Collectibles & Movie Prop Offerings With Studio Auctions Acquisition
eBay subsidiary Goldin Auctions is expanding their Movie and Entertainment offerings with acquisition of Studio Auctions.
Founder Ken Goldin announced the move on LinkedIn and X, saying “At Goldin, we’ve built our name on bringing the most extraordinary pieces to market — and doing it with authenticity collectors can trust. This acquisition lets us go even bigger in entertainment and pop culture, and deliver exactly what passionate collectors are after.”
Studio Auctions focuses on items including rare movie props including notable sales such as the more than $100,000 paid for a wand used by Glinda in “Wizard of Oz”, Hannibal Lecter's mask from "The Silence Of The Lambs" for $204,000 and more.
The acquisition kicks off with Goldin’s “Hollywood Props & Memorabilia Auction,” highlighted by the whip used by Indiana Jones in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” a Stormtrooper helmet from “Rogue One” and Daniel Radcliffe’s first signature wand from the first two “Harry Potter” films.
eBay acquired Goldin Auctions from Collectors in May 2024 in a deal that also sold off the eBay Vault for trading cards to PSA, owned by Collectors.
