eBay has released their 2025 Proxy Statement, providing details of a new Tech Committee for the Board of Directors, executive compensation and more as part of their annual report.

The Proxy Statement also revealed that ex-eBay Chief Legal Officer Marie Oh Huber was paid ~$6.5 million in severance when she departed the company last year amidst ongoing cyberstalking lawsuit and other legal troubles at the company, according to eBay's 2025 annual proxy statement.

eBay held their Summer 2025 Seller Check In this week, announcing eBay Open 2025 will be happening live in Las Vegas August 12-14.

They also dropped May updates for sellers in the UK and US, introducing Certified Open Box, regulatory compliance tools, message translations, generative AI videos for social sharing and more.

That new AI tool promises to turn item images into YouTube & TikTok ready videos, but sellers who've tried it out say it's just another not ready for primetime feature nobody asked for.

And the AI hype continues with eBay announcing a new Agentic AI experience to supercharge personalized commerce, rolling out to a limited number of users.

eBay is moving authentication services for luxury watches in-house to their Moonachie, NJ facility as third party partnership with Stoll & Co. appears to be phased out.

As revenue and GMV pressure mount and eBay looks for new opportunities to monetize the platform, could Canada be next market to see buyer fees and Simple Delivery managed shipping?
